Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate – Westlands

About the role

The client, a well‑established law firm in Westlands, Nairobi, is seeking a Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate to strengthen its practice. The successful candidate will manage commercial and property transactions, provide legal advice, and ensure smooth completion of deals while upholding professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee commercial and conveyancing transactions from instruction to completion.
• Conduct legal due diligence, title investigations and risk assessments for property and corporate deals.
• Draft, review and negotiate sale agreements, leases, transfers, charges, securities and other contracts.
• Coordinate execution, stamping and registration of legal instruments with relevant authorities.
• Advise clients on commercial, corporate, property and real‑estate matters, offering practical solutions.
• Liaise with financial institutions, government offices, surveyors, valuers and estate agents to facilitate transactions.
• Support corporate transactions by reviewing contractual obligations and identifying legal risks.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and monitor legislative changes affecting the practice.

Required profile

• At least two years post‑admission experience in a busy law firm.
• Upper second class LLB degree from a recognised university.
• Valid practising certificate.
• Strong commercial awareness and sound legal judgment.
