Communications and Content Development Officer

About the role

Amref International University, founded on the experience of Amref Health Africa, trains and educates health professionals across Kenya and beyond. The Communications and Content Development Officer supports the visibility and positioning of the Amref Health Innovation Hub through strategic communications, content development, digital engagement and documentation of health innovations, programmes, partnerships and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Hub's communications and visibility strategy and ensure consistent messaging and brand compliance
• Develop articles, blogs, newsletters, reports, case studies and success stories, translating technical information into accessible content
• Manage social media content and digital campaigns, using performance metrics to improve reach
• Coordinate photography, video production, infographics and promotional materials, and maintain a library of approved assets
• Prepare event materials for workshops and showcases, and support media relations and stakeholder engagement
• Document research findings, lessons learned and innovation outcomes, and develop knowledge products and reporting
• Track communication outputs and audience reach, and prepare periodic communications reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Marketing or a related field
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in communications, content development, digital marketing or public relations
• Demonstrated ability to create content for digital platforms and diverse audiences
• Experience in multimedia production or in health, research, innovation, entrepreneurship or development programmes is an added advantage
