Communications Consultant (Editorial and Graphic Designer)

About the role

The Aga Khan Foundation is seeking a Communications Consultant with strong editorial and graphic design expertise to develop Innovation Starter Kits for the Schools2030 initiative in East Africa. You will shape the visual and narrative identity of these kits, ensuring they are clear, engaging, and aligned with AKF branding.

Key responsibilities

• Design the overall layout, visual identity, illustrations, icons, infographics and diagrams for starter kits (A5 format).
• Create adaptable, user‑friendly templates that maintain visual consistency across multiple innovations.
• Produce print‑ready, digital (PDF), mobile‑friendly and editable versions (InDesign/PowerPoint).
• Develop visual content such as diagrams, process flows and icons to enhance clarity and usability.
• Provide editorial support, structuring, refining and copy‑editing approximately 15 starter kits (≈10,000 words each) to meet AKF communication standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in editorial design and graphic communication for development or education projects.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate complex concepts into visual formats.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
