About the role
The Communications Manager will lead day‑to‑day communications for a wildlife conservancy NGO in Kenya. Reporting to the Head of Communications and Development, the role translates strategic priorities into operational delivery across content creation, media relations, digital platforms and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Implement the approved communications strategy and manage the annual communications calendar, ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality content.
- Lead the communications team, allocate work, mentor staff and monitor deliverables to maintain consistency with brand standards.
- Oversee production of written, visual and multimedia materials, manage social‑media channels and coordinate newsletters and press releases.
- Support fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship and VIP visits by preparing briefing documents, coordinating logistics and producing donor‑facing communications.
- Coordinate communications for institutional events, campaigns and major organisational milestones, including photography and videography.
- Prepare regular performance reports, track metrics against objectives and recommend process improvements.
