Compliance Officer (Roving)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Kenya is seeking a Roving Compliance Officer to support its field offices in Kakuma, Hagadera, and occasionally Lamu and Garissa. Reporting to the Compliance Coordinator, the officer will help embed a culture of integrity, ethics, and accountability across the country program and its implementing partners.

Key responsibilities

• Screen and assess incoming complaints, determining the appropriate course of action.
• Draft investigation-related documents and communications.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and prepare findings reports.
• Provide compliance guidance to IRC staff and implementing partners on local laws, IRC policies, donor regulations, and contractual obligations.
• Monitor and report on compliance trends, supporting proactive prevention strategies.
• Assist in the development and delivery of training and awareness activities.

Required profile

• Solutions‑driven, passionate change‑maker with a strong commitment to humanitarian values.
• Experience in compliance, audit, or related fields, preferably within an NGO or similar environment.
• Familiarity with Kenyan legal and regulatory frameworks and donor compliance requirements.
• Ability to travel regularly between field offices and work in remote settings.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and written communication skills.
