Construction Supervisor - Mechanical

About the role

The Construction Supervisor – Mechanical will lead on‑site supervision of the complete installation, testing and commissioning of all mechanical systems for high‑rise projects. You will manage daily activities of MEP subcontractors, ensure strict compliance with approved drawings and specifications, and enforce quality and safety standards throughout the site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on supervision of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and gas system installations, coordinating daily work of mechanical subcontractors.
• Conduct continuous quality inspections, raise inspection requests, and verify testing such as duct leakage, pipe pressure and equipment pre‑power checks.
• Champion health, safety and environment practices, lead toolbox talks, review method statements and maintain site housekeeping.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, liaise with the Mechanical Field Engineer, and coordinate with other discipline supervisors to avoid service clashes.

Required profile

• Diploma, HND or trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering (bachelor’s degree advantageous).
• 10‑15 years of hands‑on mechanical construction supervision on large‑scale, high‑rise projects, preferably with a major MEP subcontractor or self‑perform MEP division.
• Extensive knowledge of installation, testing and commissioning of chilled water systems, large‑scale ductwork, vertical plumbing risers and fire protection systems.

Required skills

• HVAC system installation (chillers, pumps, AHUs, ductwork).
• Plumbing and drainage installation.
• Fire protection systems (sprinklers, standpipes).
• Gas systems installation.
• Reading and interpreting complex mechanical drawings, schematics, P&IDs and coordination drawings.
• Testing and commissioning procedures (duct leakage testing, pipe pressure testing, equipment pre‑power checks).
• Familiarity with standards such as SMACNA, NFPA and IPC.
