Content Creator / News Anchor

About the role

Farsight Africa Group is looking for an experienced Content Creator and News Anchor to research, script, produce and present regular news and analysis for ADN TV. The role combines on‑camera presentation with end‑to‑end production, covering political, security, economic and social issues in Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and anchor short‑form news and current‑affairs programmes on broadcast and digital platforms.
• Prepare and present daily news updates, monitoring wire services, official statements and social media for breaking stories.
• Develop insight and analysis programmes on business, digital transformation, security and geopolitics, securing expert guests.
• Research, script and fact‑check all content to ensure accuracy, balance and compliance with editorial standards.
• Coordinate filming, editing, graphics and post‑production, supervising a multidisciplinary team to meet deadlines.
• Plan content calendars, track performance metrics and maintain an organised archive of scripts and footage.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, Broadcast Production, International Relations or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in broadcast journalism, news anchoring or content production, with a showreel or portfolio.
• Strong knowledge of political, security, economic and social developments in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.
• Excellent research, scriptwriting and storytelling abilities, with high oral and written English proficiency.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
• Basic graphics tools for on‑screen visuals.
• Familiarity with digital publishing, content management systems and audience analytics.
