Country Manager - East Africa

About the role

The Country Manager will lead KOEL’s East Africa business across power generation, industrial engines, aftermarket and fluid dynamics. The role owns multi‑country revenue growth, channel development and key‑account relationships while ensuring commercial execution and customer support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute country‑wise Annual Operating Plans, managing order booking, sales, billing, collections and profitability.
• Drive power generation sales from small gensets to high‑horse‑power solutions, coordinating with Indian OEM/GOEM partners and local distributors.
• Strengthen existing distributors using the 3C framework and identify new channel partners in under‑represented markets.
• Grow the industrial engine business by targeting OEMs, equipment manufacturers and system integrators for pump, firefighting, marine and mining applications.
• Lead aftermarket growth, mapping installed base, improving spare‑parts penetration and enhancing distributor service capability.
• Expand fluid dynamics and pump solutions across agriculture, irrigation, water supply, firefighting and mining sectors.
• Build senior‑level relationships with key customers, consultants, EPCs and institutional buyers, overseeing forecasting, pricing and project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, Electrical or related engineering; MBA or postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation, diesel engines, industrial equipment or related B2B engineering sectors.
• Proven multi‑country exposure in East/Sub‑Saharan Africa with experience managing distributors, OEM/GOEM partners and project sales.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and leadership capabilities combined with technical aptitude for engines, gensets and pumps.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, execution‑oriented, comfortable working independently and willing to travel extensively across the region.
