Crane Inspector

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Crane Inspector to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves ensuring that all crane and hoisting equipment meets stringent safety and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct periodic inspections, testing, and certification of mobile, overhead, and tower cranes.
• Perform load testing and performance assessments in line with manufacturer and regulatory specifications.
• Document inspection results, maintain accurate records, and submit timely reports.
• Inspect structural, hydraulic, electrical, and safety components for wear or damage.
• Apply standards such as ASME B30, OSHA regulations, and NAVFAC P-307 during assessments.
• Advise maintenance and operations teams on corrective actions for non‑compliant equipment.
• Inspect new or repaired equipment to verify operational readiness.
• Provide rigging oversight and certify lifting hardware.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with supervisors, operators, and safety professionals to resolve issues.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in crane inspections or heavy equipment assessments.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comprehensive knowledge of crane operation, maintenance, and inspection requirements.
• Familiarity with OSHA, ASME B30, NAVFAC P-307, and related guidelines.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining validity and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
