About the role
The Credit Assistant – Recovery will contact members with non‑performing loan accounts, inform them of their debt and discuss repayment options. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the loan recovery team in Nairobi.
Key responsibilities
- Locate and contact members with overdue loans via phone, email and other channels.
- Negotiate repayment plans based on members' financial situations and advise on payment options.
- Maintain and update delinquent member records, communication logs and issue recovery notices.
- Engage guarantors, write to employers, debt collectors and lawyers when recovery action is required.
- Liaise with Loan Recoveries and Monitoring Officers on debt recovery matters.
Required profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
- 1–2 years experience in credit control, debt recovery or lending, preferably in a SACCO or financial institution.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required skills
- Data entry proficiency.
- Computer literacy.
- Basic mathematics and financial skills.
