Credit Controller

About the role

The Credit Controller will oversee the assessment of new client creditworthiness, manage debt collection activities, and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory policies. This role bridges finance, sales, and customer service to maintain a healthy credit portfolio and foster long‑term borrower relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate financial health of prospective clients, conduct credit checks, and set appropriate credit limits.
• Implement tiered collection strategies, negotiate payment restructuring, and manage security realization for delinquent accounts.
• Collaborate with sales and billing teams to resolve client disputes and invoice discrepancies.
• Prepare regular portfolio ageing reports, reconcile loan ledgers, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Ensure all collection activities and credit policies comply with internal regulations and relevant financial laws.
• Maintain open communication with borrowers, promote financial literacy, and advise on credit discipline.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Credit Management or related field.
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant credit management experience.
• Professional certifications such as CPA (K) and CCP (Certified Credit Professional) preferred.
• Strong team management and interpersonal skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of the asset financing industry and market dynamics.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
