Customs Business Development Manager

About the role

Maersk is looking for a Customs Business Development Manager to drive growth of its Customs House Brokerage (CHB) business in Nairobi, Kenya. The role will develop and execute a CHB growth strategy, build a robust sales pipeline and lead customer engagements from prospecting through to implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a CHB growth strategy to increase customs clearance revenue and market share.
• Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline in collaboration with the Sales team, converting qualified prospects into customers.
• Lead end‑to‑end customer engagement including needs discovery, solution design, pricing, negotiation, contracting and implementation.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regulatory changes to identify new growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Finance, Compliance and Customer Experience to design compliant, scalable customs solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, international trade, business administration, economics or a related field.
• 5‑10 years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, logistics or related business development roles, with a proven record of revenue and profit growth.
