Customs Clearance Officer – Licensed Broker Required

About the role

We are seeking experienced Customs Clearance Officers to join our team in Westlands, Kenya. The role requires a valid customs broker licence and at least three years of experience in a clearance or freight‑forwarding environment. You will ensure smooth import and export processes while maintaining strict compliance with Kenyan customs regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge import and export customs documentation through the appropriate systems.
• Calculate duties, taxes and other charges, and verify shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists and certificates of origin.
• Coordinate with KRA, shipping lines, airlines, port authorities and other agencies to facilitate cargo movement.
• Monitor shipment progress, provide updates to clients and resolve any clearance delays or discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and stay informed of regulatory changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Clearing & Forwarding, Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum three years’ experience in customs clearance or freight forwarding.
• Knowledge of Kenyan customs procedures, import/export regulations and KRA valuation processes.
• Strong attention to detail, high integrity and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Experience using customs clearance systems and handling related documentation.
