Data Assistant – National Position

About the role
The Data Assistant will support AVSI's national programmes by ensuring accurate data capture, validation, and reporting for household and beneficiary information. This role is essential for maintaining data quality and supporting evidence‑based decision‑making across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Validate and enter household and beneficiary data into the project database, adhering to SOPs and timelines.
- Perform regular data cleaning, cross‑checks and verification to keep error rates below 2%.
- Back up databases daily and maintain electronic filing systems for easy retrieval.
- Collaborate with case managers and caseworkers to file OVC records and support audit, DQA and SIM processes.
- Update program data trackers, dashboards and produce timely reports for monthly reviews and supervision visits.
- Conduct monthly household visits to verify data accuracy and capture missing information.
- Assist caregivers with child birth‑certificate registration via the E‑Citizen portal.
- Prepare datasets for programme reviews, evaluations and learning events.
- Lead monthly ward data review meetings and ensure proper documentation for audits.
Required profile
- Degree in Statistics or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a comparable data‑management role.
- Computer literacy with experience using information systems.
- Experience in non‑profit or NGO settings is an advantage.
