Data Engineer

About the role

The Data Engineer will report to the Senior Manager of Data Science & Analytics and will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining reliable data pipelines and data stores in cloud environments. The role involves close collaboration with data science teams and business analysts to deliver robust data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and support data processing pipelines using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Create and maintain data models, schemas and data architecture for cloud‑based data warehouses.
• Automate repetitive data processing tasks with Unix scripts and workflow tools like Airflow.
• Work with business analysts to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Develop quality assurance and test scripts to ensure data integrity.
• Build survey and voter file data pipelines and develop internal tools to simplify complex workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum three years of experience in a data engineering role.
• Proven ability to work across regional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• SQL query language.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse concepts (star schemas).
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Unix/Linux scripting.
