Data Operations & AI Enablement Specialist

About the role

An experienced and analytical Data Operations & AI Enablement Specialist is sought to manage data operations, implement AI-driven solutions and improve reporting systems across East African markets. The role combines technical expertise with business understanding to improve data accuracy, automate reporting and support strategic decision-making. It is a full-time position based in Nairobi with a salary of 70K to 100K.

Key responsibilities

• Data operations and reporting: manage channel business data across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Cameroon, and build dashboards and automated reports supporting rebates, channel allocation and business decisions.
• AI implementation: configure and train AI tools such as TClaw, and develop AI-powered dashboards and AI skills to automate data queries, analysis and reporting.
• Data governance: standardize data definitions, map data flows, identify anomalies and ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.
• System and access management: oversee daily operations, access permissions and functional improvements for systems such as DCR, BI and Scan Partner, gather business requirements and coordinate enhancements.
• Cross-functional collaboration: work with local business teams and teams in China to align data requirements and drive data projects from planning to implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Management or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT or systems-related roles.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking, able to turn data insights into actionable business recommendations.
• Good command of English and strong cross-cultural communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python, with strong coding skills.
• Advanced Excel, including complex data processing, analysis and visualization.
• Experience using and training AI tools, and building AI-powered dashboards and practical AI solutions.
