Data Protection Officer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Data Protection Officer to join a global IT services and consulting leader on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and focuses on safeguarding personally identifiable information and ensuring compliance with international privacy regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain data protection policies aligned with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other global privacy laws.
• Conduct regular audits, assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to verify compliance.
• Act as the primary contact for data protection queries from internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Monitor, report and mitigate data protection risks, recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver training on privacy best practices and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Law or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CISSP are preferred.
• Proven experience with privacy frameworks, DPIAs and “privacy by design”.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to identify compliance gaps.

Required skills

• Interpretation and application of GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA.
• Data protection impact assessment methodology.
• Privacy by design principles.
