Database Developer

About the role

ELITSELITS Canada Inc., part of the IVER Group, is seeking a Database Developer to join a customer‑focused delivery team. The position is fully remote within Canada and involves designing, developing, and operating modern data platform solutions for market‑leading customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimise PostgreSQL databases, including design, performance tuning and operational support.
• Create and manage PostgreSQL stored procedures, functions and complex SQL queries.
• Work with pg_lake (or similar) to support scalable analytical workloads.
• Configure and support integrations between PostgreSQL environments and Databricks.
• Collaborate with cloud, data and application teams to deliver secure, reliable data solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Support deployments and operational activities within Azure, including Kubernetes‑based database services.
• Produce clear technical documentation for configurations, integrations and delivered solutions.
• Identify and implement improvements in automation, performance, reliability and standardisation across the data platform.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering or equivalent.

Required skills

• Hands‑on PostgreSQL server administration, development and optimisation.
• Strong SQL knowledge, including writing, troubleshooting and optimising complex queries.
• Experience with PostgreSQL stored procedures and functions.
• Familiarity with pg_lake or comparable PostgreSQL‑based analytical capabilities.
• Experience integrating PostgreSQL with Databricks.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services and data platforms.
• Experience working with Kubernetes or a Kubernetes distribution in production.
