About the role
The Debt Collector Agent contacts debtors via phone, SMS, or field visits to negotiate payments and recover outstanding debts on behalf of the company or its clients. The role focuses on meeting daily, weekly, and monthly collection targets while maintaining professionalism, data accuracy, and compliance with collection laws.
Key responsibilities
- Contact debtors through multiple channels and negotiate payment arrangements.
- Ensure timely recovery of outstanding debts and meet collection targets.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date account notes in the system.
- Handle debtor objections professionally and follow up to avoid broken promises to pay (PTPs).
- Minimize complaints from debtors and clients and contribute to team goals.
Required profile
- Consistently meets or exceeds collection targets and recovery rates.
- Secures realistic and honored payment promises (PTPs).
- Maintains detailed and accurate account documentation.
- Handles objections persistently while avoiding complaints.
- Supports escalations and shares updates with the team.
