Deputy Director Human Resource & Administration

About the role

The Deputy Director of Human Resource & Administration will lead the academy’s HR strategy, policies and administration functions. Reporting to the Senior Deputy Director Corporate Services, this permanent, pensionable role is based in Westlands, Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior management on HR policies, procedures and strategic initiatives.
• Develop, implement and review HR policies, staff career and succession plans, and performance management systems.
• Oversee recruitment, selection, workforce planning and organisational reviews to ensure optimal structure.
• Design and manage staff benefits, compensation schemes and welfare programs in compliance with Kenyan labour law.
• Coordinate training, development programmes and ensure alignment with the academy’s strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of relevant HR experience, including at least 3 years at Assistant Director level.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Sociology, Public Administration or related field; Master’s degree in HR, Sociology, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP K) or equivalent registration.
• Leadership training of at least 4 weeks from a recognised institution.

Required skills

• Proficiency in computer application skills.
• CHRP (K) certification or equivalent.

What we offer

• Basic salary Kshs 165,700 – 315,000 per month.
• House allowance Kshs 35,000, commuter allowance Kshs 20,000, leave allowance Kshs 10,000.
• Permanent, pensionable contract.
