Deputy Principal

About the role

The Deputy Principal supports the Principal in overall leadership, management and development of the school, focusing on maintaining high academic standards, promoting a positive culture, supporting staff performance and ensuring effective day‑to‑day operations in line with the school’s vision and Cambridge standards.

Key responsibilities

• Academic Leadership – support implementation and delivery of the Cambridge curriculum across all key stages, monitor teaching and learning, support curriculum planning, assessment and reporting, analyse academic data and lead improvement initiatives.
• Staff Management & Development – support supervision, mentoring and appraisal of teaching and support staff, assist with staff induction and professional development, promote collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Student Welfare & Discipline – support behaviour management and pastoral care, promote wellbeing, safeguarding and child protection, engage with parents on progress and welfare.
• School Operations & Administration – assist daily running of the school, step in for the Principal when required, support timetabling, examinations, events and ensure compliance with policies, health & safety and regulatory requirements.
• Community & Parent Engagement – build positive relationships with parents, staff and the wider community, represent the school at meetings and events, support admissions, open days and marketing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• Teaching qualification recognised in Kenya.
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, preferably in an international or Cambridge school.
• Previous leadership or senior management experience is highly desirable.
