Development Associate

About the role

The Pharo Foundation is seeking a Development Associate to join its Impact Team. You will work closely with country teams, research staff and senior leadership to shape new development programmes across water, education and economic productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with country teams to generate and refine new programme concepts.
• Conduct feasibility assessments before capital deployment, identifying risks and community buy‑in requirements.
• Design community engagement strategies and build implementation readiness plans.
• Coordinate with the research team for evidence‑based design and with country heads for practical execution.
• Own assessments from scoping through to launch‑readiness planning and report to the Chief Impact Officer.

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate programme viability.
• Excellent communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Self‑directed work style, capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy.
• Passion for impact‑driven development in emerging markets.
