Digital Media Translator/Editor – French

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Digital Media Translator/Editor for French to strengthen its digital communications with French‑speaking audiences worldwide. Based in Nairobi, you will combine translation expertise with digital storytelling to enhance UNEP’s online presence.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and proofread stories, press releases, speeches and publications from English to French.
• Update, maintain and improve content on UNEP’s French‑language website.
• Support and implement social‑media strategies for French platforms, including translation of graphics and videos.
• Manage UNEP’s French social‑media channels, engage audiences and analyse performance metrics.
• Assist with communication requests, outreach activities and volunteer‑related content.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in translation, editing, digital media or strategic communications.
• Experience managing websites and social‑media platforms.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.
