Direct Sales Representative – Kilifi

About the role

SBM Bank Kenya is looking for a motivated Direct Sales Representative to drive retail banking growth in the Kilifi scheme while based in Nairobi’s Westlands district. You will be responsible for prospecting new customers, onboarding them onto our consumer banking products, and maintaining strong relationships with existing corporate partners.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prospect retail opportunities, visit potential customers and onboard them to the bank’s consumer banking portfolio (60%).
• Generate quality leads, follow‑up diligently and convert them into sales, meeting weekly, monthly and quarterly targets.
• Ensure compliance with account opening procedures, prepare documentation and coordinate with the Account Management Unit.
• Maintain and grow relationships with key contacts of scheme companies, conduct regular courtesy calls and visits (30%).
• Collaborate with business‑development teams to uncover cross‑selling opportunities and attend service open days or activations.
• Provide excellent customer service, resolve complaints within the defined turnaround time and minimise client attrition (10%).

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidates with up to 36 months of experience in consumer banking or sales.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and handle end‑to‑end account opening processes.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Customer‑focused attitude with the ability to manage complaints and escalations.
