Direct Support Professional – Oneonta Region

About the role

As a Direct Support Professional at Springbrook in the Oneonta region, you will provide hands‑on assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across residential, educational and community environments. The role centers on supporting daily living activities, personal care and fostering independence while maintaining a safe and compliant setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Promote choice, independence and community participation through tailored support.
• Ensure compliance with Springbrook policies, state regulations and safety protocols.
• Transport clients as needed and operate Springbrook vehicles in accordance with licensing requirements.
• Lift and assist clients weighing up to and beyond 50 lb, performing physical interventions when required.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, overnights, weekends and mandatory overtime.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet vehicle‑driving requirements.
• Ability to lift 50 lb independently and assist with heavier loads.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
