Director / Senior Director, Project Delivery – Renal

About the role

Emerald Clinical Trials is seeking a senior leader to drive the delivery of renal clinical projects. The Director / Senior Director, Project Delivery will oversee the Project Management team, ensuring high‑quality, on‑time, and compliant execution of trials while fostering client relationships and business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and retain a high‑performing Project Management team, including Project Directors, Managers, and Specialists.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, and manage performance through regular feedback and clear career pathways.
• Allocate resources effectively across projects, balancing business priorities and staff development.
• Oversee project delivery to meet quality, budget, timeline, and regulatory standards.
• Support transition from contract award to project execution, ensuring seamless handover.
• Contribute to business development by assisting with proposals, bid defenses, and client presentations.
• When needed, assume a billable Project Director role, managing full project scope, client engagement, and financial performance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in clinical project delivery within a CRO or similar environment.
• Proven track record of managing and developing project management teams.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and clinical trial standards.
• Excellent coaching, mentoring, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to handle high workload periods and strategically important projects.
