Driver – Humanitarian Logistics

About the role

The driver will transport authorized goods and passengers for MSF operations, ensuring vehicle safety, compliance with traffic and MSF security rules, and supporting logistics in Busia and Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Check daily technical condition of the vehicle (tires, oil, brakes, radio, spare parts) and complete weekly logbook entries.
• Drive safely, observe speed limits, traffic regulations and MSF security procedures, and prevent accidents.
• Verify passenger documentation, obtain liability sign‑offs, and ensure non‑MSF persons are authorized.
• Load and unload goods, hand over delivery documents, and confirm receipt of items.
• Maintain vehicle documents and a valid driving licence in the vehicle at all times.
• Report any incidents, abnormal vehicle issues, or security concerns to the line manager.

Required profile

• Form Four certificate (or equivalent) and a valid Kenyan driving licence.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
• Good knowledge of Kenyan roads, especially Western Kenya and Busia County.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform routine vehicle checks.
• Commitment to MSF principles, safeguarding policies and security procedures.

Required skills

• Valid driving licence.
• Basic vehicle maintenance and inspection.
• Radio communication (codes, call numbers, alphabets).
• Knowledge of Kenya road network and local traffic conditions.

What we offer

• Monthly salary of KES 65,500 plus a housing allowance equal to 15 % of the basic salary.
