Supply Chain Coordinator

About the role

The Supply Chain Coordinator will manage procurement activities for goods and services in line with World Vision’s policies, ensuring integrity and accountability. This role supports the organization’s mission to help vulnerable children by securing the necessary supplies and services efficiently. The position is office‑based with occasional field travel.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on procurement matters and facilitate timely issue resolution to meet community needs.
• Execute market assessments, supplier pre‑qualification, and manage RFQ/RFP processes for assigned categories.
• Lead negotiations, prepare procurement committee submissions, and supervise sourcing activities.
• Maintain supplier relationships, monitor contract performance, and handle contract close‑out or renewal.
• Process purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and coordinate PO changes with requesters and budget owners.
• Collect and analyse spend data, conduct spend analysis, and report on procurement performance and savings.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, support risk assessments, and implement audit recommendations.
• Provide training and capacity‑building for internal staff and partner organisations on procurement processes.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Procurement or related field; postgraduate qualification in Purchasing and Supplies Management (CIPS Level 4) is preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably in an INGO environment.
• Member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or equivalent professional membership.
• High professional ethics, strong communication skills, and a commitment to Christian values.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for procurement.
