Driver III – Public Service Board

About the role

The Muranga County Public Service Board is seeking a reliable Driver III to operate county vehicles safely and efficiently. This full‑time position involves transporting passengers and goods while ensuring the vehicle remains in good working order.

Key responsibilities

• Drive authorized motor vehicles for official county duties.
• Perform routine checks on cooling, oil, electrical, brake systems and tyre pressure.
• Detect, report and assist in rectifying any vehicle malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate work tickets for assigned vehicles.
• Ensure security and safety of the vehicle, passengers and cargo both on and off the road.
• Keep the vehicle clean and presentable at all times.

Required profile

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (mean grade D) or equivalent.
• Valid driving licence for the required vehicle class, free of endorsements.
• At least two years of driving experience.
• Completion of a minimum one‑week First‑Aid certificate course from a recognised institution.
• Pass the Suitability Test for Driver Grade III and the practical driving test administered by the relevant ministry.
• Current Certificate of Good Conduct issued by the Kenya Police.

Required skills

• Proficient vehicle operation and safe driving practices.
• Ability to conduct routine vehicle maintenance checks.
• First‑Aid knowledge for emergency response.
