Driving Instructor

About the role

The Rift Valley National Polytechnic is seeking a qualified Driving Instructor to join its transport training department. This full‑time position will involve delivering practical and theoretical driving lessons to students in Nakuru and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑road and classroom training sessions for learner drivers.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure all training complies with Kenyan road safety laws and institutional standards.
• Maintain training records and prepare progress reports.
• Coordinate with the administration to schedule classes and manage resources.

Required profile

• Craft Certificate in Automotive Engineering.
• Valid Driving Instructor Licence and a driving licence covering Classes B, C, D3 and G.
• Minimum five years experience as a driving instructor and five years of personal driving experience.
• Strong knowledge of traffic regulations and safe driving practices.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Three sealed referee letters supporting the application.
