ECD School Feeding Program Officer

About the role

The ECD School Feeding Program Officer will support the implementation, monitoring and coordination of the ECDE Soya‑Maize Premix School Feeding Program. The role focuses on improving nutrition, health and educational outcomes for early childhood learners by ensuring daily consumption of a nutrient‑rich porridge.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze nutrition data, prepare reports and conduct nutrition education sessions for teachers, parents and community members.
• Promote child‑feeding practices, hygiene, sanitation and health interventions within schools and communities.
• Coordinate nutrition assessments and growth monitoring activities for ECDE learners.
• Guide teachers on proper preparation, storage and handling of the soya‑maize premix, ensuring food‑safety standards.
• Monitor meal quality, hygiene and adherence to feeding schedules, providing technical support to schools.
• Strengthen links between nutrition, agriculture and food‑system interventions, including farmer engagement and kitchen‑garden promotion.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidates with up to three years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret nutrition data and produce actionable reports.
• Excellent communication skills for delivering education sessions and community sensitisation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with schools, local authorities, farmers and project teams.
