Economic Modelling Consultant for Adolescent Girls

About the role

This 12‑month consultancy supports UNICEF’s adolescent girls agenda by strengthening evidence, financing and investment cases for programmes that improve girls’ wellbeing, leadership and empowerment. The consultant will work remotely, assisting country offices with costing, cost‑effectiveness analysis and sustainable financing strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop analytical tools, investment cases and climate‑informed approaches for adolescent‑girls programmes.
• Produce evidence products to mobilise resources, influence policy and scale proven solutions across public, private and philanthropic partners.
• Provide technical assistance to country teams and create high‑quality analytical outputs for diverse audiences.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in economics, development economics, public policy, public finance, statistics, econometrics, data science, environmental economics or a related field.
• Minimum eight years of professional experience in economic modelling, development economics, public finance, investment cases, programme costing or related analytical work.
• Demonstrated experience developing investment cases, cost‑effectiveness analyses, financing strategies or ROI analyses for social‑sector programmes, preferably focused on adolescent girls.
• Excellent English oral and written skills; proficiency in another UN language is desirable.

Required skills

• Strong quantitative skills, including econometrics and causal‑inference methods.
• Ability to apply conservative and transparent assumptions in economic modelling.
• Experience translating complex analysis into practical policy and financing recommendations.
