Education Technical Advisor

About the role

ForAfrika is seeking an Education Technical Advisor to lead and shape its education portfolio across multiple African countries. The role blends strategic program design with hands‑on implementation, targeting emergency, formal, and non‑formal learning environments in fragile and conflict‑affected settings.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee integrated education programmes covering emergency response, school infrastructure, WASH, digital learning, teacher training, youth skills, and early childhood development.
• Ensure interventions are pedagogically sound, culturally appropriate, gender‑responsive, and aligned with international standards and the SDGs.
• Build organisational capacity and foster innovation within education teams.
• Engage ministries of education, donors, and high‑level stakeholders to secure partnerships and policy alignment.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and contribute to global knowledge generation in education‑in‑emergencies.

Required profile

• Seasoned professional with deep expertise in education programming and humanitarian‑development contexts.
• Proven experience designing and managing programmes in conflict‑affected or refugee settings.
• Strong track record of working with ministries, donors, and multi‑sector partners.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive systemic change.
