Electrical Engineer – Instrument & Controls

About the role

Strata-G is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a focus on instrumentation and controls to join our Oak Ridge, TN team. You will develop high‑quality design packages, support procurement, and provide field technical assistance for complex energy and environmental projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design deliverables, including cost estimates, bills of material, labor‑hour estimates, statements of work, and design criteria.
• Create calculations, analyses, construction specifications, drawings, and equipment specifications for Title II design engineering.
• Conduct walk‑downs of existing plant facilities to generate design documents and support field personnel.
• Develop conduit/cable schedules, conduit/equipment plans, one‑line diagrams, wiring/schematic diagrams, and instrument loop diagrams.
• Design control cabinet assembly drawings and system diagrams.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical assessments of plant systems to inform corrective design actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer with a strong instrumentation/controls background.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an integrated project team.
• Experience delivering field support and performing design revisions based on on‑site observations.
• Familiarity with engineering codes, standards, and best practices.
