Electrical Forklift & Genset Operator

About the role

Our client, a leading transport company in Mombasa, is looking for a reliable and safety‑conscious Electrical Forklift & Genset Operator. The role involves operating electric forklifts and diesel generator sets, handling materials, and maintaining equipment in a busy logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate electric forklifts safely for loading, unloading, stacking and moving materials.
• Conduct daily forklift inspections, monitor battery condition and manage charging procedures.
• Connect and disconnect forklift chargers according to safety protocols.
• Operate and monitor diesel generator sets, checking fuel, oil, coolant, voltage and other operating parameters.
• Perform routine genset inspections and record performance data.
• Monitor equipment performance and adjust settings to ensure optimal operation.
• Maintain accurate operating records for forklifts, batteries and gensets.
• Report equipment faults, safety hazards and abnormal conditions promptly.
• Assist in material handling tasks to support warehouse workflow.
• Keep the work area clean and comply with all health, safety and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum KCSE or equivalent qualification.
• Valid forklift operator certification or licence.
• At least 3 years of experience operating electric forklifts and/or diesel generators.
• Experience with forklift battery charging and basic electrical safety.
• Good communication, record‑keeping and teamwork skills.
