Electrical Maintenance Officer – Fixed-Term

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Officer on a fixed‑term basis to support its pyrolysis production line in Kenya. Working under the direction of Production Coordinators and Supervisors, you will ensure the line runs safely and efficiently by addressing electrical faults and performing routine maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the assigned pyrolysis line for electrical faults, unusual sounds, or abnormal conditions throughout the shift.
• Respond immediately to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and restore production as quickly as possible.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as directed by Production Coordinators (Lead Engineers).
• Clean the production line and unclog blockages at every equipment stoppage to maximise uptime.
• Participate in planned maintenance windows, completing assigned tasks under supervision.
• Record all faults, repairs, parts used, and time‑to‑repair in the maintenance log after each intervention.
• Communicate open or ongoing maintenance issues clearly during shift handover.
• Strictly follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and all electrical safety procedures before working on any equipment.
• Notify Production Coordinators of recurring faults, parts shortages, or maintenance risks requiring planning attention.

Required profile

• General qualifications as defined by One Acre Fund for all roles.
• Relevant experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within an industrial setting.
