Electrician Journeyman (Tier 2)

About the role

Fluor is seeking a Journeyman Electrician (Tier 2) to install, test, and repair grounding systems and related electrical infrastructure on construction projects. The role involves working with codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations to ensure safe and reliable installations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, and repair grounding systems in accordance with accepted codes and standards.
• Plan and execute new or modified electrical installations, minimizing material waste and ensuring future maintenance access.
• Prepare sketches or follow diagrams/blueprints to install concealed wiring before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, and assemble conduit; pull wiring through conduit with assistance.
• Splice wires, connect lighting fixtures, power equipment, switches, relays, and circuit‑breaker panels using hand and power tools.
• Test circuit continuity and component safety with instruments such as ohmmeters, batteries, buzzers, and oscilloscopes.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum four (4) years of related electrical experience.
• Journeyman license or equivalent certification.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate level.
• Authorization to work in the country of employment.

Required skills

• Electrical conduit installation.
• Wiring installation and splicing.
• Use of electrical testing instruments (ohmmeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
• Blueprint and diagram reading.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and military specifications (e.g., AR 710‑2, AR 735‑5).
