Electrician Journeyman (Tier 2)

About the role

Fluor is seeking a skilled Electrician Journeyman (Tier 2) to install, test, and repair grounding systems and related electrical infrastructure in compliance with codes and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Installs, tests and repairs grounding systems according to accepted codes, standards and manufacturer recommendations.
• Plans new or modified installations to minimize material waste and ensure future maintenance access.
• Prepares sketches or follows diagrams/blueprints to install concealed wiring before walls, ceilings and flooring are completed.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaws, pipe threaders and conduit benders.
• Pulls wiring through conduit, splices wires, and connects wiring to lighting fixtures, power equipment and control apparatus.
• Installs switches, relays, circuit‑breaker panels and connects power cables to equipment such as motors and HVAC units.
• Tests circuit continuity and equipment safety using instruments like ohmmeters, buzzers and oscilloscopes.
• Observes installed systems for hazards, performs adjustments or repairs, and may provide data to Automated Information Systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum of four years of related electrical experience.
• Journeyman license or equivalent certification.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English at an intermediate level.

Required skills

• Installation and repair of grounding systems.
• Electrical conduit measurement, cutting, bending and threading.
• Wiring splicing, stripping and termination.
• Use of testing instruments such as ohmmeters, buzzers and oscilloscopes.
• Installation of switches, relays, circuit‑breaker panels and connection to motors and HVAC units.
