Electronics Technician (Telephone Systems)

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Electronics Technician to support a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing telephone system equipment in a remote, austere environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic and electrical telephone system equipment.
• Perform tests, inspections, and diagnostics to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with NAVFAC MO-200 standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work follows safety regulations and electrical codes.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience maintaining electrical and electronic equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid passport with at least one year remaining.
• Ability to pass contract medical, security, and deployment requirements for a remote overseas location.

Required skills

• BICSI Registered Technician Level certification (or equivalent experience with copper and fiber optic cable installation).
• Telecommunications industry or manufacturer‑specific certification for equipment installation and testing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
