Employee Relations Advisor

About the role
The Employee Relations Advisor will join WRI’s Global HR team to support the implementation of the Safe, Equitable and Inclusive Workplace policy across multiple African offices. Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, the role involves conducting investigations, guiding local HR colleagues, and fostering a respectful workplace culture.
Key responsibilities
- Promote fair and respectful treatment of employees in line with WRI’s core values.
- Conduct impartial investigations promptly in response to complaints and allegations.
- Prepare clear, written investigative reports and track cases from intake to final disposition.
- Support and guide in‑country HR teams on investigation processes.
- Implement investigation outcomes, including any necessary long‑term follow‑up.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of governance, compliance, and legal benchmarks.
- Ensure accurate record‑keeping in HR systems and maintain confidentiality throughout.
- Build effective relationships across the organization to enhance employee satisfaction and engagement.
- Deliver employee trainings to support policy implementation as needed.
Required profile
- 5+ years of experience in employee relations or complaint investigations across multiple countries.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; international non‑profit experience preferred.
- Ability to conduct complex workplace investigations and apply country‑specific employment laws.
- Strong analytical, written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
