Engineering & Maintenance Lead – Fixed-Term

About the role

One Acre Fund seeks an Engineering & Maintenance Lead to drive maintenance excellence across its Tupande Soko factories, reducing downtime and ensuring safe, compliant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement a CMMS across three factories, creating equipment hierarchies, preventive maintenance plans, and work‑order lifecycles.
• Design preventive maintenance schedules targeting an 80:20 planned‑to‑unplanned ratio within 12 months.
• Manage spare‑parts strategy, set minimum stock levels, and prevent critical stockouts.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for major failures and integrate findings into maintenance plans.
• Produce monthly KPI scorecards and weekly factory maintenance reports for leadership.
• Transition maintenance from operator‑led to technician‑led, defining job families and career pathways.

Required profile

• Degree in an engineering discipline and active registration as an engineer in Kenya.
• Experience designing and implementing preventive/predictive maintenance programmes.
• Background with avocado oil machinery, industrial dehydrators, macadamia processing, or bio‑char production is preferred.
• Proven ability to develop KPI dashboards and manage spare‑parts inventories.
