Entry Level Legal Officer

About the role

Sports Kenya, a state corporation responsible for developing and managing sports facilities in Kenya, is seeking an Entry Level Legal Officer to join its legal department in Kasarani, Nairobi. The role supports the Board and various units by providing legal advice, drafting documents and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The officer will work closely with senior counsel to ensure that all legal matters are handled efficiently and in line with the Sports Act, 2013.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare legal briefs and initiate legal actions as required.
• Draft, review and file pleadings, contracts, MoUs and other legal instruments on behalf of the Board.
• Interpret legal opinions and provide guidance on regulatory and statutory obligations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date legal department records and produce quarterly reports.
• Conduct legal research and undertake assignments related to sports law and corporate governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognised institution.
• Post‑graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
• Member of the Law Society of Kenya.
• Proficiency in standard computer applications.
