Entry Level Waitstaff – Multiple Locations

About the role

Java House Africa is hiring entry‑level waitstaff for its branches across Kenya. You will welcome guests, seat them, take and serve food and beverage orders, and maintain a clean dining environment in line with Java service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Greet, seat and attend to guests promptly, ensuring a friendly dining experience.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately, input them into the POS system, and deliver orders to tables.
• Present menus, explain daily specials, and upsell menu items based on guest preferences.
• Handle cash and POS transactions, provide correct change, and manage shift float money.
• Maintain cleanliness of tables, counters and overall restaurant area, adhering to hygiene standards.
• Monitor guest satisfaction, address concerns quickly, and inform the manager of any issues.
• Assist with stock ordering, receiving deliveries, and updating inventory in the system.

Required profile

• KCSE certificate with a minimum C grade.
• At least 3‑6 months experience in a food‑and‑beverage environment or equivalent skills.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work under pressure.
• Team player with good planning, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to upsell, promote new menu items and follow standard operating procedures.
