Equipment Operator – Ground Support (Mombasa)

About the role

We are looking for an Equipment Operator to safely operate ground support equipment and airport buses at Mombasa Airport, ensuring a healthy, safe and secure environment for passengers and airline partners.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a positive safety culture by identifying and reporting hazards, near‑misses and incidents.
• Provide high‑quality customer service to airline partners in line with Service Level Agreements.
• Plan, deploy and monitor airport buses to guarantee on‑time passenger arrivals, departures and transfers.
• Conduct daily checklists, ensure bus cleanliness, serviceability and proper parking.
• Operate ground support equipment according to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Report non‑compliance and support corrective actions.
• Uphold grooming standards and adhere to company policies and KQ WAY principles.

Required profile

• Relevant certificate or diploma (minimum “O” level Grade D+).
• Valid driving licence covering categories A, B, C, D and E, endorsed for Class G by NTSA.
• Ground handling equipment certificate and completed equipment‑operator training (Level I, II and III).
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced airport environment and follow safety procedures.

Required skills

• Ground Support Equipment (GSE) operation.
• Class G vehicle endorsement.
• Driving licence (categories A‑E).
• Equipment operator training (Level I, II, III).
• Radio telephone operation.
