Estimating Analyst – Quantity Surveyor (Nairobi)

About the role

Galetech Group is expanding its estimating function in Nairobi and seeks a technically strong Estimating Analyst. Working closely with a senior estimator based in Ireland, you will provide the measured, quantified foundation for every tender across renewable energy, residential housing and modular construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take‑offs from architectural, structural, civil and electrical drawings.
• Produce and maintain bills of quantities using NRM or SMM measurement conventions.
• Assemble bills of materials for solar PV and electrical packages from specifications and datasheets.
• Build subcontractor and supplier comparison schedules and level quotations onto a common scope.
• Maintain internal cost and rate libraries and compile tender documentation packs.
• Carry out quantity checks, value‑engineering exercises and flag drawing discrepancies early.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Economics, Construction Management or a closely related discipline.
• 4‑8 years post‑qualification experience in estimating or quantity surveying with a contractor or cost consultancy.
• Proven ability to produce a complete, defensible bill of quantities from drawings without supervision.
• Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications across disciplines.
• Excellent written English and clear, structured documentation habits.
