Exhauster Driver

About the role

We are seeking a responsible and experienced Exhauster Driver to operate and maintain our exhauster truck safely and efficiently. The role involves collecting, transporting and disposing of wastewater, sewage, sludge and other liquid waste in line with company procedures, environmental regulations and Kenyan law.

Key responsibilities

• Safely drive the exhauster truck to designated collection and disposal sites, following assigned routes and schedules.
• Conduct daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the vehicle and exhauster equipment.
• Operate the vacuum/exhauster pump, connect and disconnect suction hoses, and monitor system pressure, tank levels and equipment during operations.
• Collect, transport and discharge sewage, wastewater and sludge only at authorised disposal facilities.
• Maintain accurate records of waste quantities, collection points, trips and customer details, and complete all required documentation.
• Report any vehicle defects, equipment breakdowns, leaks or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform basic checks and routine maintenance on the truck and exhauster equipment and keep the vehicle clean.

Required profile

• KCSE or equivalent qualification.
• Valid Kenyan driving licence for heavy commercial vehicles.
• 2–3 years proven experience driving heavy commercial vehicles, preferably exhauster or vacuum tanker.
• Previous experience operating exhauster trucks and vacuum pumping equipment is strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of vehicle and exhauster equipment maintenance.
• Ability to complete vehicle and trip documentation accurately.
