Feed Technical Officer - Animal Feeds

About the role

Career Directions Limited (CDL) is hiring a Feed Technical Officer for its Animal Feed department in Nakuru. The officer provides practical technical support on animal feed products, livestock feeding and product performance, supporting customers and farmers while working closely with Sales, Quality, Production and Operations teams to resolve technical issues and improve customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to customers and farmers on appropriate feed usage and livestock feeding practices.
• Conduct farm and customer visits together with Sales and other technical teams.
• Support investigation and resolution of feed-related customer complaints.
• Collect samples and information and coordinate analysis with Quality, Laboratory and Production teams.
• Monitor feed/product performance and give structured feedback to internal teams.
• Support product trials, technical demonstrations and customer follow-ups.
• Train farmers and customers on feed usage, livestock management and good feeding practices.
• Prepare technical reports on customer visits, observations, product performance and recommended actions.
• Work with Sales, Quality, Production and Operations to resolve technical matters affecting customers.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Livestock Production, Agriculture or another relevant technical discipline.
• Practical knowledge of animal feeds, feed ingredients and livestock production.
• Relevant experience in the animal feed industry; experience providing customer or technical support in the sector is preferred.
• Exposure to dairy, poultry, swine or other livestock production environments is an added advantage.

• Good report-writing and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and willingness to undertake regular field visits.
