Field Architect

About the role

The company is seeking a meticulous and experienced Field Architect to join the Jabali Towers site team. This hands‑on, site‑based role translates design excellence into construction reality and acts as the on‑site custodian of the architectural design intent.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on‑site custodian of the architectural design intent, ensuring works follow approved drawings, specifications and quality benchmarks.
• Conduct daily inspections of façade, curtain wall, waterproofing, blockwork, plastering and interior finishes, and enforce the project QA/QC programme.
• Review and approve contractor submittals, shop drawings, method statements and material data sheets for all architectural elements.
• Interpret complex architectural drawings, coordinate with MEP and structural engineers, and resolve technical queries (RFIs) promptly.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily progress reports, inspection logs and photographic evidence.
• Champion safety for architectural works, ensuring compliance with Kenyan building codes, local regulations and international best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an internationally recognised university.
• 10‑15 years of post‑graduate, site‑based experience on large‑scale, high‑rise projects with high‑end finishes.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with major international main contractors, construction supervision consultants or architectural firms.
• Demonstrated international project experience in challenging construction environments.
• Expert knowledge of building construction, especially façade systems, waterproofing details and high‑quality interior finishes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for reviewing shop drawings; experience with Bluebeam Revu or similar markup software is advantageous.
