Field Enumerator for Population Health Study

About the role

The consultant will support data collection for the LOSHAK population health study across multiple Kenyan counties. Responsibilities include conducting household interviews, administering questionnaires, and deploying wearable activity trackers.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in enumerator training, household mapping, pilot testing and obtain certification.
• Identify, locate and interview selected households, obtain informed consent and administer multi‑module surveys using a CAPI application.
• Conduct cognitive and neuropsychological assessments, collect clinical and anthropometric measurements, and manage wearable actigraphy devices.
• Ensure data quality, submit daily progress reports, synchronize data with the central server and report any issues.

Required profile

• Diploma in Statistics, Public Health, Community Health, Social Sciences, Demography, Epidemiology, Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with household or population‑based surveys, preferably national surveys led by KNBS.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with fluency in English, Kiswahili and local languages of the study area.

Required skills

• Use of tablets/smartphones and Computer‑Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) platforms.
• Operation of digital blood pressure machines, anthropometry devices and hand‑grip dynamometers.
• Deployment and retrieval of wearable physical activity trackers.
