Field Service Technician - Paint Tinting Machines

About the role

Career Directions Limited (CDL) is hiring a Field Service Technician for its Paint Tinting Machines business in Nairobi. The technician installs, services, carries out preventive maintenance and fixes breakdowns of Dealer Tinting System (DTS) machines at dealers' outlets and in-house, keeping machines running and resolving technical issues within agreed SLAs.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, repair and carry out preventive maintenance of DTS machines at dealers' outlets and in-house
• Inspect and troubleshoot machines regularly and fix breakdowns within agreed SLA timelines
• Calibrate machines so they meet required standards and follow the approved maintenance schedule
• Handle CRM complaints assigned by the DTS Maintenance Manager/Supervisor and update prices, software and machine settings
• Record service calls, maintenance, breakdowns and repairs accurately, use the CRM, and obtain customer signatures on visit reports
• Identify spare parts needed, coordinate their requisition with the supervisor and keep records of parts used
• Advise dealers and customers on proper operation and basic maintenance, and coordinate with the ICT department on software and accessories
• Follow company safety policies and report major technical issues to the supervisor

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
• 2-3 years of experience in equipment or machine maintenance within the paints and coatings industry
• Experience servicing, troubleshooting and doing preventive maintenance is an added advantage
• Willingness to travel to different dealer and customer locations; a valid driving licence is an added advantage
